Well, I thought I would cook my first harvest of new season silverbeet. But it was just too tempting – I had to have it raw and fresh in a yummy green smoothie.
Especially now that the days are getting warmer here, it is an awesome refreshing and energizing drink!
For two big glasses you’ll need:
100g (or more) silverbeet
2 very ripe bananas
3 cups water (or less if you prefer it less watery)
Pluck off the soft parts of the silverbeet leaves, discarding the hard trunk (into the compost).
Chop the apple and the bananas into rough cubes.
Place everything in the blender.
Juice the lemon and add with the water to the blender.
I prefer to blend it on low speed first and then crank it up for the last few minutes.
